So, my only exposure to Tatuaje cigars was the Havana VI. It's an OK smoke IMO, but wasn't really impressed. On a whim, I decided to pick up a couple Reservas (or J21 I think it's called). Let them rest for about 2 weeks in the humidor and WOW. Blown away. I was expecting this total spicy powerhouse but the first 5 or 6 draws were all sweetness. It has this subtle spicy undertone but not overwhelmy at all. Really impressed.

Construction and burn are PERFECT.

The B&M buy me swears by the 2003 Cojonu but I've held off until I smoked a couple of these.

What are your thoughts on the Reserva? How about compared to other Tats?

J21s are great! But I wonder if the ones you had were sitting there a while, because most of the ones I've had were pretty strong, like one of the strongest Tatuajes (Fausto and Surrogates aside).

But the Cojonu are awesome. Not as strong (except the 2012 Sumatra), and a bit more subtle on the flavors, but very complex and yummy.

Love the reservas. My favorite of petes lines barring of course cabaiguan and the brown cazadores ;). Had my only j21 ready to smoke today then it rolled off the table and completely blew up the wrapper making it unsmokable. The reservas w age rule, especially the cojonus and SW. They are expensive however.

7th Reserva
J21 Reserva
Petite Cazadores Reserva

All outstanding smokes from the Tat Reserva line in my opinion

I think I'll go have a 7th Reserva right now...

Mmmm reservas..... PC, 7th, sw, j21... some of my favorite tats. Have an A Uno but haven't tried the beast yet.

Not a huge fan of the cojonus, though

J21 are nice smokes. I have one with about 5 years rest time. They start to take on a very padron 1926 angle with some age. Theyre more peppery when fresh, it's crazy how they age.
