I'm just getting into this part of cigars so please forgive all of the questions. How many of you use just one vendor for all your purchases? I just made my first purchase and was happy, but am wondering if most of you stick to one or if you shop around to numerous vendors and really see who has the best price.
I don't know if ISOMs are like domestics where there can be a pretty wide disparity in price depending upon the vendors.
Thanks for all your guidance.

I don't think this post violates the guidelines for this forum, but if it does please let me know and I will withdraw it.

I'm a whore when it comes to purchasing.

Although, that hasn't been an issue lately. :sadstare:

Yep. Best price and best quality and you got me. Although shipping time sometime weighs in.

Without listing specific vendors, do you have 2-3 vendors that you normally compare against each other or is there a much broader spectrum (15-20) that you consider before each purchase?

2 - 3 regular; two others occasionally. It depends on the offering. Different vendors carry different sizes, although most carry the same brands. Reliability, guarantees, prices and shipping time all play a part.

I find myself using 1 or 2 vendors. It's important to develop a relationship with your vendor. Once they begin to understand what your likes and dislikes are, they can make reccomendations for what you may want. And repeat business can often open up stock to you that may not be available to the general public. It's also important to take into account how the stock is stored, what the shipping is like, how long it takes, what the customer service is like, etc. While I'm never looking to spend more than I have to for anything, I don't mind spending a little extra to know that I am getting products that have been adequately stored and packaged and is 100% legit. On the other hand, it is almost necessary to deal with more than one vendor, as no one vendor carries all stock.

I've bought from 3-4 vendors, but two have gotten most of my business and I tend to browse 6-8. But mainly I check out 2-3 on a regular basis. Haven't bought much lately though.

While I will take advantage of offers too good to resist (resistance is futile), loyalty to 2 or 3 vendors you trust 100% will pay off in spades over the long run. They appreciate the loyalty as much as you appreciate the good service and excellent product they offer.

I really only buy from 2 vendors. One has the best prices and the other for the pre 2000 sticks.
Pre 2000 sticks? My one vendor that I was able to get pre 2000 sticks is closed due to the war in the middle east. :rifleaim: :crytears:

It's nice to have vendors that deal in singles also. That's very helpful in finding the type of cigar that fits your tastes and needs. You can also manage a single or two of some of the high end sticks without spending hundreds on a box.
