Hi guys. I have some sad news to report this evening. My Grandfather, Lt. Col. Frederick Felix "Fritz" Huber passed away last Friday at the age of 80.

He spent his life dedicated to his family and to his country. When he was 27, he became a fighter pilot in the US Air Force and served for 22 years. During this time, he fathered three incredible men and flew two combat tours in Vietnam. He loved his wife, his children, and his grandchildren dearly.

His greatest personal passion in life was flying. For this very reason, my uncle shared the following poem with us all at the site of my Grandfather's entombment.

High Flight

Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I've climbed,
and joined the tumbling mirth of sun-split clouds -
and done a hundred things you have not dreamed of -
wheeled and soared and swung high in the sunlit silence.
Hov'ring there, I've chased the shouting wind along,
and flung my eager craft through footless halls of air.
Up, up the long delirious, burning blue,
I've topped the windswept heights with easy grace
Where never lark, or even eagle flew -
And, while with silent lifting mind,
I've trod the high untresspassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand and touched the face of God.

Written by Pilot Officer Gillespie Magee
No 412 squadron, RCAF
Killed 11 December 1941

Please enjoy a stoge in his honor. I know I will.
