Guys, a family friend just passed away from lung cancer. My dad was going through his things and found a M-16 lower receiver. It's PWA made in Milan, IL. Serial #43515. Model "Commando." From the research he did, he believes it is pre-ban. We have no clue of the value. Does anyone know a fair market price for this because we really have no use for it. Going to try Craigslist or a gun show when they come to town.

I got this info from one of my troops who is a big weapons collector. Hope it hepls:

PWA no longer makes weapons. They went out of business in 94 after the weapons ban.
The receiver should be worth in the vicinity of $200. He also gave me link to a thread on gun forum that covers the AR-15. [ame="http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=30184"]PWA AR15 complete lower for $200, good buy? - THR[/ame]

As I stated before, I got this info second hand so I can't say for certain that it's correct (like I would know :dunno:). I was also informed that you shouldn't get it appraised at a pawn shop. Instead, take it to a gunsmith or Cabelas (if there's one near).

I'm pretty sure craigslist frowns upon weapons being posted on their site. I would try and stick to gunbroker or maybe a local shop that does consignment or somethiing.

Good luck,
Randy
