I received this message regarding a Marine in my son's unit:

I have been made aware there is a Marine who has been deployed to Afghanistan for almost 4 months now and has not received a single piece of mail. This is unacceptable. Please put something together for him if you can. If you need tips on what Infantry Marines in Afghanistan need let me know. Thanks for your support. Address is as follows.

LCpl Yernin Bonilla
1/8 C. Co. 1st Platoon
Unit 73215
FPO AE 09510-3215

BOTL's -Please consider dropping him a line or care package - and thanks in advance.

Heres an idea from someone who is in the same shithole. Next time you see sometihng quirky or funny or rediculous or wierd, get one for them too! Soldiers, Marines, Airmen and Sailors have baby wipes, trial mix, jerky etc coming out of our ears.

Some candy you havent eaten since you were 12. Perfect. Some hostess or tasty cakes? Perfect.

And Sucol, it helps to know how their living. I have guys who are out sleeping in fox holes, and I have guys who are living baller style with TV and xbox. A bottle of body wash and a puff do no good to the guy who hasnt seen running water in a month. So if you can describe what their situation is, people can better tailor their gifts.

Just trying to help for people who have no idea.

God bless you for taking this serious enough to ask the brothers here.

Chris I will take care of this fellow Marine. I hate it when a Marine does not hear from home. It is hard enough being over there then you get nothing from home. That is bullshit he is adopted into the Besst family now.

Doesn't the military have something in place for this? Maybe your son can check with someone on the ground so he get's taken care of quickly.

Why don't you spearhead a care package for your son and this marine as well? That way everyone can send something your way and you could put it all together for the two of them.

A group care package would be cool, but individual packages will get there faster. I have some packing to do, but I can work in packing some stuff up. A few smokes, magazines, and maybe some ring pops like I sent SgtStogie
