Today, my wife and I went to her OB/GYN for her first ultrasound of our first baby. We saw the little peanut's heartbeat and it was the most amazing thing. Well, we left the Dr on a high note and got in the truck and were on our way out. Well this lady had stopped her Explorer in the middle of the parking lot and was crooked in the lane and we couldn't get by. Thinking that she just didn't see us. I gave her a couple courtesy honks and we saw the back passenger side rear window roll down and a couple dogs with orange vests popped their heads out. I turned my truck up beside her a little to see the driver. When I did, she looked back at me through the open window and muttered a faint, out of breath, "help". My wife, who's a nurse at Duke, and I, (I've had some extensive first responder training) jumped out to see what the problem was. When we got to the car, the young lady in her 20's was completely 'locked up'. She told me that she got hurt on her last deployment to Iraq. She had a death grip with her left hand on the steering wheel and her right hand was locked onto the center console and luckily, her right foot was locked onto the brake. I put the car in park and my wife ran into her physical therapist's office to get some help. The vet was in severe pain and was on the brink of tears. I did my best to keep her calm and reassure her that help was on its way. I helped the therapist get her out of the car with her hands rolled up in towels and make it as easy as I could for her to get out of the car. She was as appreciative as one could be in that much pain.

I really emphathize with what our country puts our soldiers through and the pain the ones who get hurt have to live with every day. I want to send out a enormous "THANK YOU" to our vets who put themselves on the front lines to serve our country and make us proud. To our vets who are also our BOTL, thank you for all that you do, have done, and will do in the future!

I am in total agreement, even if your beliefs are that we should not be in this war, being sent there is not the fault of the soldier. They are doing what they signed on to do. No matter which way you lean, doing their "duty" is what they signed up tyo do and we still need to support them for their efforts.

You done a great thing today and you should be proud, but most importantly we should all be proud that someone's mother, father, sister, brother, cousin, uncle, friends or friends of friends should be thanked for serving their Country and helping keep us safe, better yet protecting our beliefs everyday in Iraq, Afghanistan or wherever they are fulfilling their duty.

Thanks to all of you for doing what I am unable to do.

Wow, great job El Jefe. As a son of a vet (WWII) I can't say enough about the men and women who have put it all on the line for us. I second that statement, you're a class act El Jefe!

Class act. Way to appreciate the sacrifice. As a vet and one whose son serves, I have the greatest appreciation for the sacrifice being made by the men and women who wear the uniform.
