Option 1.

Quality over quantity.

I've got a cooler full of random things I likely will never smoke because of buying attitudes like the second one.

In fairness, I don't think I've had any of the three options from the bottom.

Definitely.

I have to imagine you can find better prices than that in the DR?
Not really...we dont get american brands like "nub", tatuaje, or gurhka (to mention a few) and the brands that are made here (LFD, PDR, EPCarrillo, Davidoff, La Aurora, Arturo Fuente) are expesive. They are cheaper in the states...(sadly)...altho, I can get Opus X for $4 bucks...but that's tricky hehe.

If your a newbie i suggest you not buy boxes, better to go for varitey untill you find what you like then maybe buy a box or two. And always Quality over quantity or you'll be stuck with a bunch of stuff you don't like and wind up giving em away.

i would personally choose option 1. but if you really like the sticks from option 2, then go for it.

In the end it's you that will be smoking them, not us. happy smoking! :ccowboy:

I was in the same boat as you when i first joined BOTL. I was all about the quantity, but after a short time of being here, doing bombs, buying stuff on the sale thread, and general knowledge gained, you tend to start gaining enough sticks that you don't bother smoking the cheaper sticks anymore. I have a selection now of over 350, and the only time i reach for a cheaper stick is if I am driving around and just need something to pass the time. I really am a believer in the quality over quantity motto, you will find out very fast that the better sticks get smoked first, but the cheaper ones won't ever get smoked...

I doubt I'll be doing bombs, since I live in the DR and shipping from-to it's not cheap...And It's not only about "cheap" sticks it's quality hehe...reason why I put those other options is because they are cheap but have EXCELLENT reviews...

That's the thing...i've never tried them hehe, but all reviews are really good...

Thanks guys...If I go with the mega sampler, the rest of the money will be paid to FireDoc for a Humi he got :D Sad thing I can't see the trading zone yet...that way i would know who's selling what :(

Where :scratchhe? I think if you were to smoke any of the sticks from the sampler versus any of the boxes you gave, you'd find that the sticks from the sampler would be much, much better. Get the sampler.

Option 1. As you stated you are new. I can't think of a better way to learn what you like than trying as many different cigars as possible.

Also, your palate will change quickly as you really get into this obsession...er..hobby.

Best not to get into boxes until you have an established flavor/strength profile that you like.
