Mexican Cigar Question

So, I'm writing a short story for someone. At this point I have a character that smokes cigars. The thing is, I want them to be crappy or lowend Mexican made cigarillos. Is there a company that has been importing them to America or any kind that would have been readily available since the 1970s?

A quick search brings up "te amo" which is a puro and looks to have been available since the mid 60's.

I found them, but I didn't want to label them as cheap or nasty without more knowledge. I guess I'll just have to buy a few. Purely for research reasons. ~
