'Mickey Mouse Clubhouse' Premieres in Primetime Tonight on Disney Channel
Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, the first Mickey Mouse series created specifically for preschoolers, premieres tonight in a special primetime presentation at 7:30 p.m., ET/PT, on Disney Channel. After tonight, the series returns to its regular timeslot on Saturday at 9 a.m., ET/PT, during the learning-focused Playhouse Disney programming block.
In a coordinated global launch, the series will premiere on 22 Disney Channels and five Playhouse Disney channels across North America, Latin America, Asia-Pacific, Europe, Middle East, Africa and Japan reaching more than 100 countries.
Mickey Mouse Clubhouse introduces a whole new generation of kids to the iconic character enjoyed by audiences for more than 75 years. With character designs referential to classic 1940s drawings, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse is the first 3D, computer-animated TV series starring the "Sensational Six": Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy, Daisy Duck and Donald Duck.
In each episode, Mickey and his pals go on captivating capers that blend humor, classic storytelling and lively music with early-learning fundamentals.
The series is produced by Walt Disney Television Animation and a team of children's entertainment and child development experts led by executive producer Bobs Gannaway.
"Mickey and the 'Sensational Six' have entertained kids for generations, and we're thrilled to introduce them to an entirely new audience of preschoolers," says Gary Marsh, president, Entertainment, Disney Channel Worldwide. "Their playful spirit appeals to the kid in all of us, and kids, parents, grandparents and caregivers alike will enjoy seeing their favorite childhood characters come to life in these new clubhouse adventures that also teach important learning skills."
Mickey Mouse Clubhouse is punctuated by toe-tapping music, a core component of Disney's legacy. The series' opening theme and its recurring "Hot Dog!" song are written and performed by the Grammy® Award-winning rock group They Might Be Giants.
