Since I seem to be loosing the battle to insomnia tonight, I'll take a shot here. IIRC, your thread was about you being overseas and basically asking for people to think about contributing cigars to the troops. Don't read in to the following, just read and give it a thought.

I think the first issue would be you are fairly new here and although nothing wrong with it, your post count reflects low participation with regards to the forum. While you may have 100% good intentions you have to see where some may question ones intent when asking the group for something. We are a pretty generous group but have been taken advantage of before, so we try to be a little cautious when it comes to stuff like that.

There have been many troop bombings going through here and guys are always willing to give a little something to those who serve our country. Usually they are handled by someone who is established here on the forum.

Lastly, you posted your address so it was publicly visible without being logged in, that is not a good idea for many reasons.

I understand and Thank you. I am onboard with what you are saying. I was kinda looking to see if there was anyone that know of a place to go and sign up my unit. This is a idea that I have brought up to the Morale committee and they all seem to love the idea.
Tonight I was the only one with a stick and the idea of starting a cigar club at the unit is off the ground and running.

I was in the Hampton road area all summer and spent a lot of time at Emerson's, I tried to make a get together, but the times were never right.

Thanks again
Shawn

I am about to send 5 very large packages out to our troops and I have contacts that make sure they get distributed to as many enlisted soldiers as possible. Not that the officers aren't just as important or don't make their own sacrifices. It is just that when I served we watched the officers take every care package and distribute it amongst themselves. Things didn't get passed down to the enlisted soldiers.

Stick around and keep participating here on the forums Shawn. I personally do another troop donation in early spring and if your unit is still overseas I will see what I can do to help you guys out. Thanks for your service and understanding.

I asked Shawn to email me from a Military server and then will check the details I assume we all do this when sending thousands of dollars of cigars that we are entrusted with.

Thanks for your Service Shawn!

In that deleted post, I had suggested that you tell us about yourself, so we can get to know you...What you smoke, how often you smoke, your favorite cigar...etc.

This goes a long way to build trust, which will ultimately add integrity (and hopefully, success) to your cigar mission.

We have a tight Brotherhood, here...Get to know us so we can get to know you :)
