Mold at the foot

Found two of my sticks with mold at the foot. Cut off the mold, leaving the cigars away from my regular stash, are the two still smokable? Or should I chuck them?

Personally, I'd chunk them.

I've never had mold, but I'm too damn afraid of that BS to play around with it.

I think your fine if you cut high enough... Lotsa guys just wipe ,old off the wrapper and smoke them.. I can't see much of a difference

I know ingesting mold is terrible, and smoking mold vapors can't really be better, and I'm only assuming worse... Personally, wouldn't take any chances with that. Chuck em' and take the loss of some good sticks and $. Better than being sick for a week because you wanted to salvage a smoke... or worse.

chuck them...

inhaling burning mold is not something you want to do.. and there is no way to know absolutely for certain that you cut high enough to get it all..

take the loss and move on..

Concur with everyone. chuck em if you see mold on the foot. that means that spores have gotten inside which is a much better breeding ground for the mold. You don't know how deep it goes unless you open it up and of course by then its kindling anyway. G1

good idea to chuck them, you dont want those spores, burnt or unburnt, getting into your system. do you know how the mould occurred?

i'd toss them. Remember reading somewhere that if its on the foot than the whole filler/binder is potentially effected.
