Need help identifying this cigar. Was gifted from a friend and I think hails from Bermuda. Darkish reddish color (Colorado like). Very sweet pungent smell. Fairly oily wrapper. I have no experience with Habanas. Thanks!

Pull the band off and see if its embossed. Raised print facing out on the white backing. There are 60 different shades of wrapper leaf to a habanos.
It looks like a slight box press to it. That's good. The back looks slightly sloppy on the band. Who cares.... Bulbous head on the roll? Check. Bunching looks good. I'd like to see some stitching on the wrapper leaf. But pics are blurry. The fact that it came from a place with a B makes me worried its answer starts with a F....

Thanks Gents. Label appears embossed to me but I can't for the life of me make out the cap construction. It's nicely made whether real or fake. I hope it smokes as good as it smells. Cheers.

The recent ones can have dark wrappers, but it does look just off to me. As Jfire said, coming from Bermuda would make me think about it.

Caps a bit weird, but I'm not expert. I've got a box of 2s and a few are different from others. Only way to know is smoke it or know your source more,

Went and looked at my new ones again. Now I'm leaning toward not real. The cap is way off from all of my stash and the color is real dark even compared to my darkest. Posts like this helping me learn at the same time.

The wrapper looks very blotchy. All the monte 2s I've seen have a even and lighter color to it, never seen one that dark. The Cap is very off too and the foot looks a little weird.
The band may be real, but cigar is questionable.
I would just cut it open and take a look.

Fire it up and let us know what you think of it.

Wrapper shade can very from box to box. Darker wrapped Monte's are usually prefered, but the best Monte 2 I had was about the same shade as the one pictured.

As mentioned band looks legit and I think the cigar maybe as well

It's not real - for sure not, I can tell by the cap, wrapper shades do vary but not by much on Monte #2 ... who cares, smoke it and see if it's any good...

Well if wrapper shades don't vary much on monte 2s then I've smoked some pretty dark excellent fakes. A few more things since the new pictures. That band has been folded like it was shipped. Not good IMO. The wrapper ALTHOUGH A ECEPTABLE SHADE. Is way to blotchy. I'm guessing a real band on a decent fake. The cap and scarf are also off on the head. And for the love of god. Tomorrow I'm taking a screenshot from a page of the great book of the habano. Describing how wrapper leaf from Cuba can be anything from Claro to Maduro. There are plenty of dark monte Ryj rass and a few others besides the norm. (Boli party)
Sorry for the rant but let's make sure the info we give will paint the overall truth.
