I was sitting on my patio yesterday, looking at the changing leaves and realizing that Summer is over and Fall is upon us. As I sat there enjoying my stick, I started thinking about this past Summer and both the cigars I've enjoyed as well as the experience of having them.

For me, there are two specific events that stand out for me from this Summer:

Father's Day - I was over at the in-laws and brought a couple of My Father cigars to share with my father in law. Beautiful weather, he had grilled a great dinner, and then the cigars all made for a great night.

Hanging out at a festival in a small town with Romulus Cogswell, having a couple of cigars outside on the sidewalk at a B&M. We both thought that we'd get a bunch of angry glares as people walked by us and through our smoke. However, since we were really careful about blowing smoke in the opposite direction, that never happened. HOWEVER, several people (a couple of dozen, maybe) stopped when they saw us and decided to go into the store. I remember two couples in particular: when they saw us, the wives asked their husbands if they wanted to go into the store.

So those are just two of several memorable cigar moments for me this Summer.

Now I want to hear if there are any particularly memorable times for you guys from the Summer of 2014...

I don't know if this fits your time frame, but the best experience over the past couple of months has been The PSJC blind reviews. I have smoked and reviewed two of the cigars. The excitement of trying to pass along my experience is second to none. In addition, I now have two more cigars that I can pull from when I purchase. I venture to say that those two experiences have been the two best events I can think of with regards to cigars.

The Jericho hill I smoked on vacation down the shore. Nice peaceful night out and remember it hit the spot. Maybe not the best smoke but the best time smoking a cigar. Really relaxing.

For me, hands down it was this year's Tatuaje Monster at the My Father dinner in Las Vegas at Mortons Steak House. We had the entire restaurant full of good people, all the folks from My Father and Tatuaje with good food, great wine and great smokes. The cigar was awesome and made even better by a great evening. Sometimes it's not the cigar so much as the who/what/when/where/why involved in smoking it.

Really good idea for a thread.

My most memorable moment was several weeks back. A few weeks after having a baby, my wife and I finally went out on a real date while my mom watched our daughter. We had a really nice dinner, wine, then when when we came back home, I convinced my wife to come sit out back and have some more wine with me while I have a cigar. My mom stayed upstairs with the baby, my wife finally got to really relax and cut loose, and I enjoyed my first and only Dirty Rat.

I think that may have been one of the best cigar I have ever had. I'm sure part of that was just moment, but it still was by far my most memorable cigar of the summer.

Agreed this is a great idea for a thread!!

Mine would have to be my honey moon! We were fortunate enough that one of our well to do friends put us in a resort for our honey moon (way out of our league haha) but anyways being a BROKE literally just married guy I was low on cigars and in the craziness didn't grab any to smoke on the honey moon. So we were eating in the bar lounge at the resort and just thought heck ill ask if they have a humidor (since it was a well to do resort). Sure enough they did!! Not a great selection but they had an AF Gran Reserva so that's what I went with. As Craig said "Sometimes it's not the cigar so much as the who/what/when/where/why involved in smoking it." I couldn't agree more!!!

My most memorable cigar and experience of the summer was at my brothers member/guest golf tournament at Mission Hills CC. After the first day of the tournament all the players had a prime rib dinner followed by drinks and cigars out on the veranda. My brother brought a box of 10 siglo VI's. As you can imagine the cigars disappeared in the blink of an eye. I was fortunate to snag one. Not only was it the best smoke of the summer, it was the best cigar I've had the privilege to smoke ever. The cigar combined with the meal, weather, and camaraderie made it an evening I'll remember for a life time.

For me, it was a Por Larranaga Small Robusto RE Italia, gifted by a friend who was in the States from Italy. Smoked it with him and others, standing on Bourbon Street in New Orleans for the first time, watching the craziness roll by. May not have been the absolute best cigar of the summer, but certainly the most memorable.

Every year we go back east for 2-3 weeks around Labor Day. This is always the end of my summer because when I get back to CO ski sales are in full swing. This year I had the pleasure to close our boathouse and camp with one of the best sticks I've ever had. Joel sent me a MaW San Cristóbal LCDH and it helped get me through the sad time.

This was my most memorable. It's the Padron 1926 #1. It lasted a long time as my wife and I smoked from the deck of our rental condo at the beach. We were getting ready to go see a concert at a club on the beach down the street. I finished it on the deck of the bar where we were seeing the show at. The flavors really started popping after a third of the way through. Absolutely delicious. Pair that with being at the beach and you've got memories!

On the Memorial Day I was hanging out with my friend/business partner and his family. We had lots of good beer and smoked up some killer ribs and grilled up some chickens while the kids played in the pool. I was able to thoroughly enjoy my first T52 hoping in and out of the pool to man the grill and try to stay cool in the desert heat.

My most memorable cigar would have to be one of the many I shared with new friends. I have met quite a few local botls from IG and just talking in B&M's this Summer and have really enjoyed getting more involved in the community. Looking forward to meeting more new brothers and sisters as I continue down into the abyss lol.

I've got two that really stand out. The first would be HDM Epi No. 2 it was only my 3rd CC and the first time trying it. I heard so many good thing I thought I was going to be let down, but it defiantly did not disappoint. The 2nd was a Oliva V, that was absolutely fantastic. I've smoked two more since the first and neither were as good, but I imagine I'll keep trying to chase that excellence of that first stick.

My ears shot up like a dog hearing the cupboard door open.... Love the pic and want to try that stick.

One of my other hobbies is motorcycles. I went with a group of folks up to the mountains and road the famous "dragon" Deals Gap and many other great roads. Had a Ferel Flying Pig to celebrate! What a great moment!
