I recently bought a box of cigars from my local and when I brought them home and opened them up, it smelled like moth balls. I took them out of the box (put them in a cigar bag with a Boveda pack) and the smell in the box has dissipated, but there is still a smell on the sticks. Any ideas? I'm not really sure what ammonia smells like, but could this be ammonia from not being properly fermented? I rarely buy boxes, so this is a first for me when opening up a box. Should I bring them back to the B&M? Let them rest? These weren't cheap so I wasn't too happy that was the smell I got when opening up the box. Thanks fellas.

The cigar shop I go to says that you should bring them back. They told me that the Tabacco hasn't married yet and it sounds like the company rushed them out for sale. They still need time. They need to sit for about 90 days. Good luck and happy smoking.
