Well, it was a tough week. Unexpected $400 muffler malarky and spent the afternoon visiting the wife of a friend who passed away recently.

It was a long week and despite being a broke graduate student I found the car pulling me to my local B & M.

Today's choice was going to be a Tatuage, but I wasn't sure which one, so I let my credit card decide.

Tatuaje Havana VI Noble for $8.20. Expensive but the cheaper cigars were too small and I needed some down-time.

Holy-mole, guacamole! Excellent construction and pre-light aroma. I toasted and fired and it burned steady and razor sharp the whole 60 minutes. It did get a little hot near the end but some of that was due to nubbing it and not wanting the smoke to end.

Everyone knows I am new so I won't try and talk over my head about a cigar I have only smoked once. I can say that my expectations were high and they were met with great flavor, a lovely and shifting flavor profile, and a long finish that was always pleasant during and long after the smoke.

Though my experience is limited, this is the best cigar I have had to date and look forward to exploring the line as my wallet allows. The construction, burn, and flavor were just so obviously a notch above anything else I have smoked.

The cigar gods were in my favor socially as well. From a guy in a suit and bow-tie, to a biker, and a professor, we all gabbed about cigars while watching golf.....and the salesclerk as she walked past in a lovely black summer dress. :ccool:

Everybody encouraged me to come back on saturdays and sundays, especially in the winter. During football season people bring food and alcohol.

It was a good day and a landmark day for my palette and my love for cigars and BOTL in general. :guitar:

The Havana VI line is part of what got me hooked. My friend got two boxes of those 'red-label' petite coronas, the angeles, and before I sold my old, stinky truck two summers ago I had one while driving for an hour. They are good. (The long skinny ones, the Victorias are good too) Once your palette gets settled on those red labels, start trying some brown labels, you can start to pick up the actual depth of the flavor, and not just the raw strength like you might now. Congrats.

Now just fix the title. ;)

I have a couple of Tats I got from the newbie sampler trade with sauzatime. I'm looking forward to lighting them up as it appears the folks here really enjoy them.

Or when in the forum view showing the list of threads in the forum (not inside the thread) double click just to the right of the end of your title. It should become editable. Might need to click a few times quickly to make it happen. Then just edit the title and press Return.

Lol glad you enjoyed bro. It's a wild ride from here on!

It's funny that you put it like that. I am hooked. The ritual, the smoking, the fellowship. Every cigar person has been salt of the earth. It's a win-win, all the way around.

Well, OK, my wallet aside. I should have been an orthopedic surgeon rather than a social worker, but in the end, it will be OK. :chat:

Glad you liked it! Just remember, the red labels are the "lesser" Tats. Not to say they aren't great, but just wait until you try the brown, or black labels. Not to mention any of the limited releases...

The problem that arises after you smoke your first Tat is that now it will be harder to smoke and enjoy many of the lesser nc cigars. At least that is what happened with me :ccowboy:

Cool. A BOTL told me about the labels and hierarchy, but I forgot.

It's ALWAYS a great feeling having that wonderfull cigar after a rough day. As your pallet gets more experienced you'll find there are quite a few cigars out there in the $5-7 dollar range that can hit thoes notes as well. The Casa Magna is one of them IMO. The $8-12 dollar range is very addicting but can be ravaging on the credit card. Before you buy one cigar look for samplers as that is always cheeper than buying singles, especialy when it comes to Tat's. Try a La Riqueza!

The Angeles is where I started my Tat experience as well.
