My freshly rolled box of cigars and the guy who made them...

I was happy to find out this morning that my 25ct box of 38 x 5 Corojos were rolled at Santiago Cigar Factory (Rochester, NY) yesterday. I couldn't wait, so went to try it. I fired one up and put the rest into my locker to rest a week or so. Though it had a bit more pepper thoughout, it was outstanding full-bodied bliss, and had the same profile as the "magic" one that I tried last week. This fresh one gave me about 1:45 hr of pure pleasure. My box is the very first one since they have decided to put it into production, so this is an extra special treat for me! For those who have asked about them, they are being offered for $8 a stick. Here's a pic of the box and the guy who rolled them, Mr. Amadeo Bonilla...

As you know, most of their blends are med. and med.-full. This is one that they think will be a great seller for the full-bodied crowd. I agree. As I understand it, they have an ongoing source for the tobaccos used in the new Corojo, so if it sells well, I'm sure they will keep making it. If not, I've been told that they will always be willing to make them upon request.

FYI, they also are making this blend (as I type this...) in a slightly longer format, and I see that they put a box of robustos in their humidor. I have not tried them yet, but am told that it is different in character than the 38 x 5s that I have.

That is a great logo, but the box was actually for robustos (as you can see on the label...) and just one that I used to store them in for my locker.

To me there is no better experience than seeing one's sticks rolled and then lighting them up. Had the pleasure of watching Maria roll the La Palina Goldie, at the time I had no idea how special it was seeing that take place. Recently received one and it will be saved for a very special occasion! Congrats on having such a memorable box!
