Today is turning out to be a good day. I slept in till 1300 (1pm). Put on CLEAN clothes. Ambled into the PX (Post Exchange / Store) and was surprised to see their display cabinet for cigars actually had cigars in it! And holy shit it had Brickhouse Robustos and Toros. I just picked up 2 of each and a couple El Baton Robustos. Never heard of em but their nicaraguan so I'll give em a go.

Todays a good day so far. Just no rockets or mortars and it will be a good night too!

It's good to hear AAFES is carrying more than Cuesta Reys. The Class6 at Eglin AFB did carry Torano when I was there like four years ago.
Cuestas and a few others if that level is all I've ever seen at the BX or Class Sixs I've ever been too. I wish a cigar company would think to do a deal with AAFES to get some quality cigars in there. They'd make a killing.

Man you should have seen the "Class Six" and the BX we had before they built the new mall on Misawa base. Well it isn't new now...20years! But it was built when I was there.

Sounds like maybe JC Neuman/A Fuente may have done something for Sarge!

My guess is that JC Neuman/Fuente have some sort of a deal with AAFES. Plus it's not exactly like AAFES is going to go out of their way to find other companies. The other factor to consider is the military leader's disdain for tobacco use. I remember one of the generals saying "tobacco use makes your night vision worse". Then I immediately went out and found an article written on research about how smoking can help your night vision.

I got lucky in Bahrain the PX/BX/NEX etc... had some Diamond Crown's and if the person behind the register didn't know any better (mostly locals) you could get the box for the price of 1 or 2 sticks...

The NEX at Pearl Harbor, HI has a great selection of sticks. You can find just about any shape/size Diamond Crown for 1/2 what you would pay at a B&M. Maybe Fuente/Neuman does have a deal with AAFES, I see a lot of their cigars in the BX/PX/NEX's around the world. DC is the highest quality of their cigars I have seen though. Any body at MacDill AFB on this board? I would love to see what they carry there, with Tampa Sweethearts right down the road.

Are you in Hawaii now? Let me know as we have a group of guys that occasionally gets together for herfs plus just to let the word out about other events, etc.

As for the selection of cigars at the NEX/PX etc, its not up to the individual bases. A cigar company has to get on the "list". Once on the list, then they can be ordered by the the individual bases. The mgr in charge of ordering is limited to the selections on their procurement website. Basically Fuente and General have the military market cornered!

We just had Cuestas in Baghdad, and a few assorted "bundle" smokes. If your PX is anything like ours, you'll want to put your smokes in your humi for some rehab for at least a week.
