My Truck officer at work.

I got a text this morning from one of the guys at my firehouse. My Lt. who is also a close friend of mine at work was in a bad Motorcycle accident at 11:30 last night. He was alert after the accident for a few mins then started to have altered mental status and from there even worse. After being treated and transported to a local hospital by one of our ambulances the decision was made to fly him out to Loyola. I made it up to Loyola this morning with a couple dozen of or guys and some of his family. He's currently in a coma, body swollen in every extremity and part of his skull was removed to relieve the pressure from bleeding. The odds are not good right now and I'm kinda overwhelmed by the situation. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would have to deal with this especially with such a close friend on the job.
