All,
Found this site about a month ago; and lurked for a bit....Unfortunately life is busy; so I wanted to make sure I found a good spot to park my ass for a while
Personal Cigar History - Had my first introduction back in school; smoking my roomate's dad's Macanudos. Naturally we were dumb and didn't know better; so most of the time it was paired with a beverage which most likely contained some sort of grain alcohol...
Once out of school, the sticks took a back seat to everything else which was going on...and around that time is when the smoking bans hit everywhere. Sure I'd have a smoke every now and then; but I surely wasn't seriously enjoying it.
Cut to late last year. For my Birthday, I was given not one - but TWO humidors out of the blue...Clearly a sign from the gods that my cigar time had arrived !
I've slowly begun to add to my collection (and naturally I had to pick up another humidor), but I am shocked at how huge the cigar world is ! Before I'd just go into the liquor store, find something I recognized - and be done with it. A couple of months ago I made it into my first 'real' walk-in humidor and was in awe....I surely didn't know where to begin. Im even more surprised at how regional cigar selections are. As I travel often for work; I am fortunate to find items which are not available where I live - and that only adds to the list of 'should try'
Thanks !
Steve
