So, I'm still feeling my way around everything the island has to offer and I've gone mostly for boxes of 10 instead of boxes of 25 or 15 (other than the BPCs which are rather inexpensive). There are some I'd like to try that come exclusively in boxes of 25/15 (RASS, ERDM Choix Supereme, SLR Regios, HDM Ep no.2).

So, what I need help deciding is: should I pick up a box of RASS or should I pick up 2 of the smaller boxes of 10 (RyJ SC, Party D4, HdM EE, RA Superiores) knowing a few of those boxes of 10 are different than their fellow cigars of the same marca?

Just for reference I budget 150-200 monthly for cigars.

I'd probably opt for the 10ct boxes

You get to try more different cigars that way.

Variety is the spice of life, plus the 10 count boxes are just as good as, if not better, than the 25 ct choices, IMO. Find out which Marca you like best in the 10 ct, and then expand into other vitolas in the 25 ct.

Here's an example: Should I pick up a 10 count box of the Ramon Allones Superiores or should I get the 25 count box of the Specially Selected? Also, should I get the 10 count box of the HdM Epicure Especial or a 15 count box of the Epicure No. 2?

I wish there was a 10 count box of the RASS and Epicure no2, which I have been led to believe are the better of the pairs but clearly that's not the case.

Considering your budget i would opt for a couple of 10 count boxes from different brands until you decide what you like.

Then start investing in 25 count boxes.... enjoy the ride!

If you put it that way:

If you haven't had any of those, I'd start with these (in order):
RASS - even (or especially) since it's a 25 ct. box, over the RAS.
PSD4 - not my choice, but I know many people love them, and there's no telling what you might enjoy most.
RyJ SC

HdM Epi#2 over the EE. Save the ERDM and SLR for later.

I'm also not sure about recent years, so that may make a difference as well.

Easy answer is find some samplers to figure out what you like.
Out of what you mentioned the only one I've smoked fresh is 2011 RA Superiore. I think they will be epic down the road.
SLR and ERDM are some of my favorites with age.
HDM epi 1, Du Roi, and Des dieux are tops on my list of that marca. Don't like the ee at all and the epi 2 is ok. Pick up a box of Palmas Extra for $100. I always keep a box of these in stock.
Not a fan of partagas personally.
Most important as it's been said a million times is smoke what you like.

easy solution: do box splits with fellow B/SOTLs :)
This is what I was going to suggest and what I'm currently doing to try more variety. Most, other than the PSD4, of the 10 count boxes you listed are quite a bit more per cigar than the 25 count ones, ie a 25 box of RASS isn't a whole lot more than the 10 box of Superiors

The reality is, I've never smoked most of these cigars so I'm leaning heavily on the opinions of fellow brothers. With that said, I think I'm going box of RASS now and going to look for some box splits going forward.

I'd personally go with RASS and if I had the money I'd tack on a box of RA Superiores.

It might not be the BEST cigar off the island but RASS is just one of those cigars that I could smoke every day...so that's my choice. RASCC is another good choice if you want to save a bit of money.

What are epi 2s? I just got my first box of cc's (montecristo petit edmundo's) delivered yesterday, though I've yet to go back home to open the adventure yet.
