its going to be a interesting weekend. Asher has the H1N1 flu. No school for at least a week. Plus Marie and I will be on medicine too so Josh does not get the flu. Asher is so bummed that he can't go to a birthday party on sat. Pray for us that we can keep asher feeling better and the baby healthy.

I had to call 14 different places to find the flu medicine the doc wants us to take.
Thankfully we have one place in town with the tamaflu in stock.

Wish us luck.
Stephen.

It will be OK! My daughter just got over it last week. Not sure why your doc would want you on some medicine (probably Tamiflu) as the CDC said it is not going to help and unless the person ill is in a high risk category (asthma, diabetes, or some other major health complications) not to prescribe Tamiflu. Just get plenty of rest, fluids, and Ibuprofen or Tylenol. I was fine and so were my other kids.

he wants us to take it because we have a 6 month old.
they can not do anything if Josh gets it that young thats why he wants the whole family on tamiflu.

PLUSH's comments were interesting, here's the CDC page.
http://www.cdc.gov/h1n1flu/recommendations.htm

Per the CDC, 70% of those hospitalized were in the high risk category. The flip side is that also means that 30% were not in the high risk category, and their illness was severe enough to require hospitalization. The antivirals work best when administered quickly after diagnosis. If the swine flu is is as dreadful as the regular flu, I'd take any medication that could shorten the sickness.

I'll be praying for you guys! I have a 22-month-old in the house and my wife is pregnant. We are praying to stay healthy as it's a lot scarier when there are little ones involved.

I have called all local pharm's in town. None have the tamaflu liquid in stock.
Thats is crazy 60+ places and only 2 have the pill form. I really feel sorry for any one else going thru this. I do not wish this on anyone. This flu is going to get real bad if the supply of medicine is gone and it starts to spread around....

Hope your little one gets well soon and that everyone else stays healthy. Scary stuff. I have two school age ankle biters and my wife is pregnant so I pray that we all stay healthy.
