Actually anyone's input would be good. I'm looking at getting a random orbital sander and wanted to know if you had one, and what are your likes and dislikes with the brand you own.

Got a Porter Cable here, too. DeWalts are nice, but $$$$. I think I had a Ridgid once, too. Broke when I dropped it on the floor, but I was able to take it apart and put some wires back together.
The Porter Cable was my grandfather's, and it's my go-to. Never had any problems with it.

I owned a dewalt and I was given a Ryobi as a gift. Believe it or not I always grab the Ryobi before I grab the dewalt. It out performs it hands down. If I was reading this post I would be skeptical myself, but it is true. I normally stand by DeWalt and all the power tools I buy are dewalt or porter cable, but if my Ryobi ever fails me (going on 4 years old now), I will be replacing it with another one just like it. However, I am just a weekend woodworker and around the house carpenter so I do not put tools under the strain that some might and that may make the diference in the long run.

Thanks for the feed back fellas. I ended up going with the PC but looked at all mentioned. It seems to work like a champ so far. I'll let you know in a few more years.
