Hi all! Thirty four years old, been enjoying pipes (off and on) since 25. Recently had several great cigar smokes and decided it was time to invest in a desktop humidor and start learning about cigars. I've always been attracted them, even since childhood.

Next thing I know I have more cigars on their way than I'll probably smoke in years, haha. I love exploring new tastes...

Smoking pipes is well suited to solitary enjoyment, but cigars feel very much more social to me, so wanted to get on a good message board. Plus the amount of knowledge out there is overwhelming - can't hurt to have a sounding board for questions!

Cheers all

Go Badgers! A fellow Prescottonian here! Very cool to see someone from the home country here. I just signed up here today. I know this is going to be a great forum now! Tell Bucky O'Neil he still owes me money! :)

Welcome from N. Atlanta. I remember Prescott, AZ too well...back in 1975 I was almost robbed on the side of 89 just going through Cottonwood into Prescott...oil light came on and I stopped to put in some more when a truckful of rowdy good ole boys stopped behind me...sat there eyeballing me as I had out of state plates. I opened the hood of the car to put some oil in and kept my eye on them while they got out one by one on each side coming towards me slowly....they were about 30 yards from me so I opened my passenger door...got my 357 Mag. S/W...closed the door and turned towards to them and put the gun in my front pants pocket. They saw what I had and stopped dead in their tracks....slowly turned around and got back into their truck and s l o w l y turned around and left. Lucky for me I didn't shoot my pecker off and was able to get enough oil in the engine and started the car and drove on into Prescott. I'm pretty sure had I not had my handgun I'd have been buried there.

I had to read this a couple times to decide whether to hit the 'like' button or not. I can't find a 'WTF' button so I'll hit 'like' because you are still with us :wideyed:

Also, welcome @MattBringsSoda (y)

I hear ya....should have put a WTF emoticon on there. I can remember it like it was yesterday as I was only 21 at the time.... way before all of the politicking we see today for Gun Rights. Not that I get into it but all you need to do is actually deal with a situation like that and suddenly you're glad you had one with you and all the hairs that stood on my neck that day told that w/o that gun I was gonna be a statistic....thx hookfish84!
