Steve Faccenda was a wonderful man that worked for CAO and recently passed away after a long bout with cancer, leaving behind a wife and three young children. To honor him and raise funds for his family, Don Francisco cigars (a NJ shop that Steve served), has introduced a new cigar whose proceeds will go to an educational fund for the children.

Please step up and help out the family of a fallen brother.

The following is from Don Francisco and outlines the details behind this cigar and how to purchase them:

"Don Francisco presents The Faccenda

First, an explanation of the origin of this new cigar and why I am asking you to purchase as many of them as you can.

Many of you knew Steve Faccenda, for those who didn't, Steve was an extraordinary salesman and photographer for CAO. He was a genuine human being and I believe that everyone who met him instantly took a liking to him. Steve was active on many boards as he liked to stay in touch with the consumer. He made many donations to our causes and attended many herfs and events with us.

Steve contracted cancer. Over the last year he lost all of his hair but not one bit of his sense of humor. Steve has passed. He worked from his bed up until the last minute. Cancer ate up his funds. Steve left behind a wonderful wife and three young children. I spoke with his wife about an idea and she is grateful that Steve had so many friends - true BOTLs.

Here is my idea and the basis for this cigar and its marketing: This cigar will be available exclusively from Don Francisco Cigars for 6 months. Proceeds will go to the Faccenda Children Educational Fund. This is for real and can be verified with his wife or with CAO, who has approved it.

First, the price - only $6.50 per stick with a flat rate shipping of $5.00 no matter how many you buy. That's simple enough.

Production started today. They smoke and taste great right off of the rollers table, but will most definitely improve with age. To meet a time-frame for this cause, I make & sell them, you smoke or age them if you want.

The cigar is a Robusto (5x50). The wrapper is a true corojo grown exclusively for me by a friend of mine from seed from Pinar del Rio. The binder is capote from Peru and the fillers are Dominican Ligero, Dominican Seco, and Nicaraguan Viso.

To place an order just email me at info@DonFranciscoCigars.com with your credit card information (no Amex) - Name, address, cc#, 3-digit code, exp. date. If you want to use ** let me know. If you do not want to email cc info, provide a telephone # and best time to call you and I will take it over the phone.

Please post this on all sites you participate in and pass it along.

Thank you and God Bless you!"

Holy crap, dude. I know it's for a good cause and all, but I would *not* mail my CC # and CVV code unencrypted over the public internet.

I'm shocked a legit vendor would even ask you to. It has to be a violation of his merchant agreement.

I understand your concern about e-mailing credit card info. Feel free to check out his website and you could also call him. I believe he was just trying to make it easy for people to purchase by as many options as possible. He is most definitely a legit vendor in business for many years, rolling his own sticks as well as selling the name brands.

Please feel free to share this info on any other boards that you may visit. Don Francisco plans on making/selling these cigars for at least 6 months and hopes to raise a decent amount of money for Steve's children.
I quoted your original post and posted on another board I spend a lot of time on. This is a very worthy and good cause. Not sure how many here got to know Steve but he was indeed a good guy, had a great wit and was a truly unique and genuine person.

I spoke to Lew the other day and he said that if there appeared to still be a demand for these cigars at the end of the six months that he would go ahead and extend this another six months. At the time he said that the original roll was 600 cigars and in the week since he had made the offer and post that there had only been 100 sold so far.

If you can swing it, any size purchase of these will be a benefit to Steve's kids and wife!

Much appreciated!

Check out a pic of some of these fine sticks from my initial purchase.
