Sup guys, I used to be being extremely active in the forums for several years. Those years gave me the knowledge and the palate for good cigars, thanks to many of you. I actually got many or most of my cigars from here...samplers, trading, buying, etc. And funnily enough, life didn't allow me to smoke them all! Right now, I am in a better place employment wise, so I can start buying cigars again...but I have no idea which ones to try. Obviously, I still enjoy an LFD, AF, Padron and others. But I'd like to hear your reccs and if any of you would like to sell me a sampler, I'd be willing to buy some.

Welcome back apaniagua. I am happy to see a familiar name as I recently came back on BOTL as well.
As for cigars to try, I don't have many, I stick with my usual that I enjoy while I worked at the cigar shop (Tatuaje, AF, Padron, Habanos). Some new ones that I found pleasant include Charter Oak by Foundation, Oliva V Melanio, and that's all that comes to mind at the moment. Good to have you back and in a better place in life. Cheers!

Glad to see you too man! Happy to be back.

Thanks for the recs. I have a few OR Melanios still I think. I've been told Foundation cigars are really good...I think I'll have to buy a sampler of all their cigars to try them out.

You still smoke mainly the chocolate maduros? What kinds of cigars are you enjoying from the brands you mentioned?

Thanks guys. So I have all foundation cigars on a 20-pack sampler in SmokeInn...gonna try them. @acer999 is setting me up with a really good sampler of around 16 cigars with tatuaje, and other stuff.

Next in line are:
  1. Aladino,
  2. Dunbarton stuff,
  3. Rojas and Stolen Throne,
  4. Black Works Studios Green Hornet and Killer Bee
  5. Caldwell Long Live the King
  6. Crowned Heads Mil Dias and Le Carême
I'll be trying on the lookout for those. If anyone here would love to sell me sampler of those, I'd buy em gladly!

Hmmm, you mean flavored cigars or really dark maduros? I enjoy any good cigar, regardless the wrapper to be fair.

Right now Plasencia is killing it with the Alma lines of cigars.

The Joya de Nicaragua Cuatro Cinco and Cinco Decadas are also newer and pretty awesome.

The Herrera Esteli Miami is another one I am big on right now. They also rest well and seem to just get better through the first year.

Dunbarton and Foundation are widely acclaimed. Basically the guys behind the Liga Privada decided to start their own separate companies.

One that really surprised me last year was the Taìno by Serino Cigars. A really good price point on Atlantic and every vitola was well ranked by Cigar Insider.

I was also pleasantly surprised by the Cavalier Geneve Black Series USA (aka the Black Series I).

Edit to add:
Amendola Family Cigars Signature Series. I have enjoyed every cigar in that range.

My advice with Aladino is to rest them. Three to six months is where they really come to life.

I forgot to mention the Eiroa PCA Exclusive 2021. It uses a Honduran Cameroon wrapper and is absolutely next level in my opinion.

In the absence of specific wrapper or flavor profile:
-Warped is consistently good. Lirio Rojo, El Oso, La Colemena... too many to list. Don't get too caught up in the LE hype, his regular stuff is (imo) better bang for buck. Cloud Hopper, and Guardians of the Farm Rambo are both staples in my humidor.
-Aganorsa. Does a lot with Warped, and I like a lot of their branded releases, too.
-Curivari has also been consistent for me. Really like the El Gran Ray
-Dunbarton, in particular the Mi Querida blue label. Some of his stuff is too strong for me, but the blue has good balance. The black label is incredible. The closest to old Liga Privada No 9 I think I've tasted. Also, the closest in price, my goodness it's a pricy stick.
-Crowned Heads is doing some really good work. All of their maduros are on point if you like that profile. I'm leaning a lot more towards medium bodied stuff, and really like the Mil Dias.
-Foundation gets a lot of mention with good reason. The overlooked gem in the lineup: Charter Oak Habano. One of the best values out there right now!

Damn boys, y'all have exceeded my expectations. Thanks! I'm gonna start putting them in a shopping cart...I'll try SmokeInn and Cigar International.
Try out Neptune cigars and use WHEEL18GETLUCKYWITHNEPTUNE for an 18% discount.

At Smoke Inn you can use the code Dojoverse once a month.

Atlantic Cigars has "direct pricing" that activates after you sign up and make a purchase. The savings varies, but it can be up to $70 - $100 a box for some things. Plus they have cool email deals.

Cigar Page can be very low price if you sign up for the e-mails. The volume of e-mails may seem excessive though.

I have basically stopped buying cigars the last few years. My humidor is still full and I'm smoking very little. But, there have been a couple that wowed me enough to add a box or two:
- JdN Antano CT (Corona Gorda is my favorite... probably because it's the best vitola)
- Gran Habano Blue in Green (I generally dislike large vitolas, but the Gran Robusto is the move here)
- JdN Numero Uno (delicious but pricy)

I was the same but I've picked up the pace now.

By the way, acer999 stepped up and sent me a sampler to try a few things, and some classics I've enjoyed before. The ones without rings i believe are CCs? Not sure.

Thanks acer999!
