so, our detectives recently got all the new kevlar tactical equipment: helmet, flackvest, goggles,,,, real SWAT stuff!! since i'm a part of the detective unit, i'm anticipating mine!!
went to the office yesterday, and there was a nice black 'war bag' full of goodies!! and, much to my surprise,,, i found a one-piece HAZMAT LEVEL C suit, complete with fire helmet, rubber gloves/boots,,, and a roll of duct tape!
uh, Toto, we're not in Kansas anymore!! holy crap!!! and, what am i supposed to do with this?? "You want ME to put on this suit and walk into that gas cloud? hmmm, couldn't we just wait for the FD??"
We actually completed a three-day training last year,,, responding to critical incidents while wearing this stuff. it's tough to utilize your equipment, esp. the radio, with the gas mask, et al., in place! and, try to operate a handgun while wearing rubber gloves!! not funny!!
tis the world we live in,,,, i guess:sadpace:
