Just bought a humidor off craigslist for $65. It's a 3 tier one with Plexiglass sides (3). I wanted to use the Bovida Humi packs (84%) to season it, but no one had any. What is the best way to season it? I might change the plexiglass sides for a doubleplan glass and seal them better. But $65 it's not bad. I needed one to hold more cigars.

Take a damp clean sponge wipe Down all the wood, take a shot glass or two of DW and place on the top and bottom of the humi. Put in your digital hydro and let it get up to right about the % you want then throw in your beads, Kl or w.e you're going to use and let it acclimate to the rh% you want for a week or two. Then fill er up!

Wiping down with a damp sponge can warp/ruin the wood. If you choose to wipe it down make sure you get a brand new unscented sponge and ring out as much moisture as possible and lightly wipe the wood and be careful not to over saturate it. Close the lid and wait 2-3 days and repeat until you are getting stable readings over the course of several days.

Seasoning a humidor isn't a quick process and I have found the longer you take doing it, the better the results will be in achieving a constant humidity.

Exactly! Thank you for clearing that up Craig
