So as many of you guys know I graduated from medical school last year in San Antonio, and didnt match into the specialty that applied for. It was a little disappointing, but I enjoy a lot of things so I spent a few months decideing if I wanted to reapply, or apply to a different specialty. Well, I decided to apply to anesthesia programs this year. Its been a busy year up here in Chicago for me, and over the last few months I have been interviewing all over the country on my days off from work. I found out a couple of days ago that Baylor College of Medicine in Houston (my hometown) really liked me and they offered me a second year position there starting in July 2010. This couldnt have worked out better for me. I am going to be back in Texas, which is awesome. Im going to be in the same city as the rest of my family, and I dont have to take a year off after I complete my intern year here in Chicago, but rather just get to go right into my specialty training. its a huge weight off of my shoulders, and I thought I would share it with you guys! Thanks to the guys who have encouraged me through the last few years of my training. Now its all lined up and the end is in sight. Cheers guys!:smokingme
