Hey folks,
Young newb here looking for some cigar recommendations! I haven't smoked very much(recently turned 18) so I'm extremely inexperienced.
So far my favorite cigars are:
-CAO Black Bengal
-5Vegas Gold Toro
-ACID Blondie Belicoso

I also really enjoy MUWAT(only had baitfish so far) and I smoked a Camacho Corojo and loved the flavor but it destroyed my stomach and sent me crying for mommy.

So, what do you think? Which cigars do I need to try based on my likes? I can't handle full bodied cigars, obviously!

Thanks brothers!

When I was a newb I got "grab bag" samplers from different places and would recommend it to anyone starting out- cheap way to find a few you like. You'll end up with some sticks you hate, but for the $ you can just toss them if you light one you don't like.

As for specific recommendations, my only "medium body" go to is any perdomo sticks really.

I have bought a few samplers. I've bought the CI Backyard Boogie sampler twice! Honestly, without samplers, I wouldn't be smoking. Single cigars are just way too expensive for me.

Samplers. My favorites right now are anything from Oliva or AJ Fernandez. Man 'O War overruns are cheap and tasty.

Start with budget cigars that come highly recommended by BOTLs here:
-Padron x000 series (I recommend the 2000 maduro myself, but try both the natural and maduro) $4-5
-Illusione "R" Rothschild - $4
-A Fuente 858 (I'm partial to the maduro) - $5
-Perdomo 10th anniversary series - a great intro to cigars in different stripes, mostly milder in tone, but with differing profiles. Try the champaign, the champaign noir, and the maduro.

Here's my top recommendation for a noob though:

http://www.cigarbid.com/Auction/Lot/1622388/Oliva-Top-Ten-Sampler-10-Cigars/

Oliva's top ten sampler. Oliva puts out quality cigars that are well made and have great tobacco. The sampler is cheap (just over $3/stick), you get two of each to really get a feel for the profile, and there's some great quality and variety. You get to sample camaroon, maduro, connecticut... and the Master Blends III is just a great cigar all around.

Smoke through that sampler, then come back and tell us what you loved, hated, liked, disliked, etc about each and we'll be able to make much better recommendations that match your profile.

Finally, I suggest not stocking up on anything, no matter what you see other guys around here doing. It's easy to try to keep up with the Joneses... don't! Buy one or two of a stick and smoke it. If you love them, buy five. If you still love them, buy another fiver. Only then if you still think it's boxworthy, buy a box. As you experiment and sample, your palate will change. I've been in this hobby for a few years now and my palate is still changing. Don't waste money on bargain boxes until your flavor preferences are really nailed down, or you'll end up with a bunch of cigars you no longer care for and wasted money on.

Oh and since you live in Knoxville, I can't remember the name of the shop... On the west end of town off of (cedar bluff rd I think)- their house stick is $4 and very good. "Regal" I believe if you're ever in there

I think I have a number of these in my humi. I know I have a Trocadero, a Schitzo, a Oliva V, and a Perdomo Champagne Noir(and a 10th that I bought for my girlfriend).
Careful with that Oliva V, especially on an empty stomach. If you're not used to full bodied cigars you'll feel like that time when you were 10 and ate all that fried crap at the Carnival and went on the Tilt-A-Whirl.

With that being said, it's one of my favorites.

Age won't help, she packs a punch for a long time. Smoke it after a mean, and drink a sugary soda with it, the sugar should help. Don't avoid it though, it's a delicious cigar! It's actually the first cigar I fell in love with.

Lol I meant 'age' as in... Hide it in the bottom of my humidor and forget it exists until I man up!

Spring strong sweet tall green grass grow...
On the samplers, famous-smoke.com (site sponsor) has a bunch of "samplers by strength" plus a 15% off $50+ code for us, BOTLORG. These samplers also show up on Famous' discount site, cigarmonster.com and everything there gets free shipping. Twice a day for an hour and all day Tuesday (right now) & Friday the Monster shows all it's deals at once instead of a new one every hour.
You could go grab the mild sampler off the Monster, add a medium sampler once you get to the Famous checkout page, pick two that add up to $50, get free shipping, use the 15% off BOTLORG code and have them likely by the end of the week...
