Kind of a slow day at work, so hopefully this short introduction won’t turn into too long of a read for all of you.

Anyways, Hi, my name is Taylor and I live in South Georgia. I am new to the world of cigars, having been a former cigarette smoker for 10 years (quit 2.5 years ago). Enjoyed my first “good” cigars last year on a cruise. No idea what they were, but they were expensive, so they had to be good right? :D I still didn’t truly experience the awesome taste of the cigars as I inhaled and smoked them way too fast.

Fast forward to a few weeks ago, I wanted to go grab some nice cigars to try out and possibly take on our cruise in June to enjoy. I grabbed an Arturo Fuente Gran Reserva and a Punch Rare Corojo, both at the $5.99 mark at the local B&M. Not sure what they were, Magnum maybe? I am still learning sizes/gauges. I got home that night and of course had to try one, so the A. Fuente it was. This one was alright, maybe a little too strong for my beginner taste, as it punched at the back of my throat a little. This one was purely experiment, as I was learning to smoke the cigar slowly and without inhaling, which is hard to do after smoking cigarettes for so long. I am pretty active, I run/bike/swim etc, and just started doing Triathlons. After my very first Triathlon a few weeks ago, I thought it would be nice to have a celebratory smoke, so I lit up the Punch Rare Corojo. I fell in love with this cigar immediately. I know my tastes will change, but I will be back to buy a few more of these for the cruise at least.

So it has been since 5/4 that I have had a cigar, and needless to say the Punch gave me the bug. I think the main thing holding me back was inhaling them, and afraid they would interfere with my workouts/training. But I just don’t feel that (1) cigar or so a week in an outside setting, and not inhaling will make any noticeable difference. So I have been all over online, and have an 8 pack sampler with a 5 pack travel Herf-A-Dor coming from CI, as I just couldn’t resist that deal. I also have a 69% boveda on the way, and a brand new tupperdor that was already at the house never been used.

Is it bad that all I can think about now is Cigars I WANT to try? This is going to get expensive.

Can’t wait to get a few stacked up so I can start trading with BOTLs.

Now back to trolling the boards reading all of your great posts and information.

PS: Now to maybe try and resist the urge to buy a Cuban in Grand Cayman or Cozumel :D

Thanks for the warm welcomes everyone! I will be sure to get a Cuban from La Casa del Habano in Grand Cayman. And I have a mini fridge in storage, but hopefully it will be a WHILE before it comes to that!

Welcome from NW Georgia.....I am one of those Cigar/Cruise enthusiasts and love traveling with my cigars. I commemorate each place I go to with a cigar so to remember it better. Your journey will continue with your cigars...a great way to live.

Hey Taylor,

:welcome: from Minnesota :waving:

GREAT introduction! You sound exactly like me when I first got bit by the bug. I know what you mean when you said you fell in love with that Punch rare corojo. I stumbled on one myself last year and thought it was phenomenal. Hope you enjoy your time here but hang on tight because it's a fun ride!
