The golf made me do it...
Over the past few years, I've fallen in with a group of guys who golf on Sunday mornings. One of the guys has a tradition of lighting a cigar on the 12th hole. I'm paired with him frequently, and every time he lights up it's like I'm 12 years old, freezing in a northern MN duck blind with my dad. Dad always had a gallon Ziploc bag with a couple cigars from JR in it (on family vacations we'd drive hours out of the way to get to that shop for him). When the ducks weren't flying, the cigars came out.
So I decided I'd start partaking in this tradition. I've smoked some in the past (late 90's, mostly) but my experience has been limited mostly to Macanudos. So after a couple of trips to local shops, I've got a few Perdomos, Alec Bradleys, RyJ, and an EP Carrillo New Wave in mostly Toro sizes. Just experimenting to see what I like. So far the best has been a Fuente Corona by the fire this weekend.
I'll be over in the corner, soaking it in and trying not to convert my 94qt boat cooler into a 'dor....
