Hi guys I am pretty fresh to the cigar world and I hear some pretty big brands being thrown around that I would like to try like LFD, Ashton, DP, Tatuaje, Liga Privada, and so on, and so I am here to get so advise and ideas on what I should try first. So far what I have smoked is a Romeo Julieta clemenceaus, a few Macanudo Maduro ascots (little cigars), Acid Kuba Kuba (too sweet didnt like it), and the best so far was a Rocky Patel ITC 10th anny. I really enjoy the Maduros so I picked up some on the cheap off CI and also have on order some Nestor Miranda special selection. so please bombard me with some suggestions on what might be some good medium strength gars to get to start me out. :cursing:

Thanks

I would recomend Ashton Classic, Cabinet, and Heritage. All mild to medium bodied cigars, you will enjoy them better than something overpowering.

If you've used to mild/medium smokes, I would wait a while before you move to the LFDs. Otherwise, you might be putting yourself at risk for a bad experience :barf:

The LFD's can be a very full bodied smoke, the same with the Liga's and most Tat's. If you want to try the LFD's or Liga's go with something small, the LFD Chiselito would be a good size. The Tat's you will be able to enjoy the Series P, they are mild/med smoke.

There are so many great samplers available:

Why not start with C.A. top picks:

Try this sampler

A lot of folks may complain about the C.A. pick process, but I have smoked almost all of those cigars and they are all worth a try.

A few good medium cigars I have enjoyed consistently are Padron Classic, Montecristo and Cuba Aliados. One great thing about these all are that you can get a variety of sizes and shapes, with each being a different experience.

Also, I have found the Legends series from CI are nice smokes at a good value. The Camacho, Puros Indios and Nestor Plascencia are quite good.

Try the Fuente Short Story or Best Seller. Also, check out the newbie sampler thread. You can set up a trade with someone to try out some sticks you might like.

since smoking it a few months ago i'm way into the cruzado dantes and marelas. Great medium bodied smokes. flipping amazing. Also I know everyone is saying it...be weary of fuller bodied cigars like lfd or tats, you might end up with a nasty buzz and sick to your stomach.

Grab some Nica Libre on a daily deal - they're really tasty and just left of medium. Very good smoke almost as good as the Padron line.

Thanks for all the suggestions I have a wishlist that I have composed and am going to my local B&M's and possibly but a custom sampler off famous smokes.

I saw the newbie sampler thread when I started checking this forum out and once I signed up I realized the thread was locked.

Check out the Newbiesampler thread. You'll be able to build a reputation there, and get some good smokes along the way.

for light I'd try Ashton, Romeo Y Julieta, and Oliva
for medium I'd try Padron (regular line), Leon Jimienz 300, and CAO cameron
and for full i'd say La Flor Dominicana, Pardon Anniversary, and Tatuje

Seriously. Look into the CI samplers. I started off with the 90 rated sampler and it was pretty wide variety of flavors.

Hear, Hear!!

But I would put the Padron as a "light medium" and the R&J as a "heavy light"
