Here is a list of websites that I spend about and hour or so on per day.

Considering that I am a newbie, I thought I would pass the information along as I feel that my knowledge of cigars has grown at a very fast pace because of this list.

Let's see some other websites that brothers also go to.

Good resources, but BOTL does have sponsors who are great and help support the site. They should at lease be included in this post.

Cigar Aficionado has a great resource for noobs and intermediate enthusiasts alike:

Cigar 101

It's a pretty comprehensive "how to" guide, and tackles the most common questions for beginners (how to cut, how to light, how to smoke, should I leave the cellophane on?).

It also ventures into the realms of cigar production including growing regions types/shades of tobacco, and common cigar lingo.

I just read through part of that cigar 101 thread (Top 10 questions).
The author suggested smoking the cigar with the band on vs. taking it
off and messing up the wrapper.... (Is he F%$*& CRAZY???)

I've never smoked a cigar w/ the band on!

What about you guys?:halfgrinw

I tend to leave the band on and remove it when it burns down close to the band. Seems to me that the glue on band warms up and comes apart easyer with less chance of damage to the wrapper

It doesn't matter whether you smoke a cigar with the band on or off as it has no discernible influence either way. I sometimes keep it on because the wrapper might be cracked, unravelling, etc. and it serves like a bandaid. Some have said it's in poor taste to keep it on,,,I don't know who makes these rules but it should have no bearing on what anyone does in regards to yanking it off or leaving it on. I live by enough rules in my life I surely don't need any concerning my cigars.
