You know, I never got big into fly fishing. I don't know why, I just never found it as enjoyable as bass fishing. I've got all the gear and have caught plenty of fish doing it, but gimme a bait cast any day.

That being said, I can't seem to find any fellow fisherman in the Charlotte area. (I may or may not be trying to make good friends with a girl who has a house on Lake Norman though as we speak...)

Yup. I went to school out in Harrisonburg, VA (JMU). I had no boat for lake access but streams were all over the place. Got my fair share of trout fishing in but I missed the lakes for sure

Not in the area and haven't thrown a line for a few years now, but used to really enjoy it. It's a different mentality than spin or bait casting in my opinion. You might check in some of the local shops, I'm sure there's probably a club or group or even a few dedicated anglers who would be glad to have you along.
