I actually prefer my Stouts and Porters to be just a bit chilled. I think they taste better as they warm up.
Chilled and frosted are two different things to me and I won't drink from a frosted glass.

I do agree with you about Stouts and Porters tasting better as they warm up which is why i like to drink them in a snifter glass.

I may be old and set in my ways but I like all my beers in a frosted glass. My advice would be to try it both ways and make up your own mind. Never let others tell you the "right way" to enjoy something.

I don't mind it for when I'm chugging a BMC product or session beer. But, no way I'd put a rare/limited beer in a frosted glass.

Great read, Larry!! Proud to report that the restaurant I help manage serves their beers in CHILLED glasses only. Never frosted. Actually, our pint glassware fridge behind the bar is the 2nd warmest of all of our coolers & fridges next to the red wine coolers set at about ~64F. I check the thermostats twice a day. And our pint glasses are usually around ~50F, and polished before they're stored as well.

Glad to see this in print. Nothin' erks me more than when I order a nice beer and find ice from a frosted glass floating in it...
