I just read on a blog that if you live in Maryland you can't order tobacco products online as of May 1st. Can someone enlighten me of this nightmare?

Our Maryland brothers need to take to the courthouses. Online petitions that are a copy and paste really do as much as a "like" on facebook.

Here's a perfect example of why the Interstate commerce clause was written and this appears to me to be in direct violation of it.

Most states require you to voluntarily report and pay taxes on your online cigar purchases. Stupid politicians can't understand if you tax it to death and put businesses and people out of work the taxes they collect are reduced.

I'm sure the lawyers have a neat little trick, but yeah it sure seems a lawsuit against the state by one or more of the online retailers would be a pretty clear cut case :dunno:.

looks like a possible loop-hole. If the online retailers charge state tax (from their state) then the transportation would be legal as it would show on the invoice as tax being paid.

It's a BS law but I would be it will be overturned.

Get used to this, folks. Most states are headed in this direction these days, and the Fed is heading farther. That fact is that this is a political issue, and not to annoy anyone here, but a CERTIAN party has stated outright that their goal is to end smoking in the US entirely.
