No smokes at the convention?!?!

I was at an event yesterday and spoke with the guys at the lounge about the ipcpr. Apparently, there is a fairly crediblee rumor going around that there may not be any cigars given away by the manufacturers due to tax issues.

Anyone care to comment yay or nay?

I haven't heard that they aren't giving away anything, but I did hear that the giveaways will be limited, as Louisiana are making the manufacturers pay tax on each cigar.

I was told that there were possible issue with smoking...bur they were cleared up and why they are in NO rather than Vegas...as for the free smokes...I doubt it....Cubau maddys are being given away as part of their release...so I am guessing that everyone else will be too...

Are you saying there is an ordinance to allow smoking at the convention center? I don't think this was ever in question. Whether or not we will be smoking the cigars given at the event was the question.

My bad, I misread the thread. But, there was a previous issue about them not allowing smoking at the venue. That has been cleared up.

Don't know what the vendors will be doing. I'm sure nothing will change from the previous events unless the vendors do not have the budget to provide giveaways.
