I typically have enjoyed either a little bourbon (Four Roses Single Barrel, Blanton's, Elmer T. Lee) or scotch (Glenmorangie, Balvenie) in the evenings with my cigar. For health reasons, my Doctor has advised me to cut out any kind of alcoholic beverages. I am looking for some alternatives that pair well in the evening with cigars. Anyone have some suggestions? Thanks.

+1 to Dr. Pepper and Root Beer.

For soda, orange Crush/Fanta.

Also, Arnold Palmer is the bomb. Good iced tea on its own.

Decaf coffee drinks?

Occasionally a decent sparkling water.

Yeah depending on your caffeine intake or if you can do coffee at night, a good cup of joe is always nice. I am currently outside having a nice cup with a JDN Antano.

Another go to for myself is home brewed sweet tea, but not to sweet and sugary.

Seagrams Ginger Ale. Caffeine free and only 100 calories.
There is a 10 calorie Ginger Ale out there as well, I think Schweppes. In a similar can as the Dr. Pepper 10 with the entertaining commercials.

I drink Non-Alcoholic Beer quite a bit.
As far as the normal stuff goes, I don't care for O'Doulls. Becks NA, St Paulie Girl NA, and Kaliber are good no-beer alternatives.

I have a German Market/Deli in my neighborhood and they have even better selections, including a Weissbeir.

I will often have a no-beer with a cigar at night and enjoy it quite well.

I'd say it's time for a new doctor.
haha. well i might have thought the same thing. what is one drink a night
My doc told me that drinking alcohol (hard, not beer) will help break up the kidney stones I had at the time, it helped, but that's one thing I hope no man ever has to go through.

To the op, a good cup of hot black coffee goes a long way with a good smoke, I haven't had soda in years, but root beer or ginger ale sound like a good compliment as well.
