Just had teeth pulled Friday and I usually relax on the weekends by enjoying a few sticks... Everything I have been told is that I should wait a week or two before smoking to avoid any potential issues. Needless to say this weekend has been a bust!

Hopefully this Friday when I go in for the check-up I get the green light...

Sorry to hear brother. Better follow the Doc's advice and have a really good stick picked out to celebrate when you get the green light.

it's totally worth waiting, and you have extra time to plan a great smoke.

BUT if you have to:
- DON'T overdo it
-smoke slow, and stay hydrated
-rinse with warm salt water after

good luck, man!

Feel your pain brother. Just had one yanked a few weeks ago. I know it's tough, but I'd agree with waiting. I got excited and smoked one too early and it irritated the heck outta things. Javajunkie is right on with the warm salt water above! Really helpful..

Oh I hear you for sure brother. 6 weeks I couldn't enjoy a stick that was really rough. My doc actually specified me not to smoke any to give my body a fighting chance and to allow me to recover 100% so I would say hold off it's worth it in the end trust me.

I just went through this myself...5 weeks I believe it was. Yea, it was very difficult not having that one on one time with a good smoke but looking back thank God it went fast...although it doesn't seem like it at the time. Hope you recover well my friend!

Thanks for all the positive comments guys. I'm afraid of the infamous dry socket so I am for sure going to stay away for the recommended time.

Ciggy - 5 weeks?! I would go nuts, but im sure with that time length it must have been something a lot more important.

I think I waited a month, or a little over it, after having mine pulled.

I didn't have dry sockets, but I was sore for longer than they anticipated... so I held off on smoking for extra time just to err on the side of caution.

Fortunately for me I am not sore at all, I think thats why I feel like I'm good to go. I am going to hold off though, not too sure about a month, but we will see when I see the doc again for the post-op check-up.

Alway better safe then sorry. It really depends on how you feel. No need to rush it.
Very true and I will wait. Just afraid I will offest the pleasure of smoking with the pleasure of buying more sticks and going broke lol.
