Late packages. Tracking a package that gets mysteriously paused at one location along the way for days when it used to clear in hours. Complete inability to provide any info that's not already on the website. Inability to do anything about an obvious issue with a delivery.

I'm not the only one seeing that things have gotten markedly worse over the last couple of months, am I?

***PLEASE consider including a Boveda or water pillow or some sort of humidity when shipping USPS*** There is no longer any confidence that your package will arrive within the time frame it used to.

Yep. Strange, because usually the government is good at running things.
When I am tracking a delivery it will show some place like, philadelphia, obviously a LOOOONG way from Houston, and "package out for delivery". No clue what is going on.

I've noticed a big increase in packages that lost direction, disappeared altogether, tracking that went dark etc. Probably about 1/3 have been having problems in tge last 6 weeks or so.

Same here. I'm waiting for a package from NY and it shows it left NY on the 26th and that's it. I'm hoping its just late and not lost.

Federal budget cuts and loss of revenue for the USPS = cuts in service and slower delivery. A lot of times the postmaster in a particular office will say, "Don't location-scan our packages today...we're short-staffed." That's why the tracking information might just show "label created" from origin to destination. Yet it oddly appears on your doorstep when you least expect it. Other times they'e so overwhelmed with packages from this UPS SurePost service, they don't bother location-scanning those. More than once recently, I've had packages showing "out for delivery" -- but didn't get them until the next day. I do feel for my carrier, because she sounds flustered all the time and would *like* to do a better job, but they just don't have the resources to cope with the volume.

I ship a lot of lighter items via UPS ground now. More expensive, sure. But better customer service in my experience. (y)

The nasty winter weather that a lot of the country is experiencing surely has to play a part. Especially since more than two thirds of the US population is east of the Mississippi.

It's been a rocky road this year for a lot of North America. Yes, Oh Canada included! Winter Storm XXXX has been kicking everybodies ass. I sort of apologize if any members are employed by that joke of an organization USPS and I quote
“One of the things the government can’t do is run anything. The only things our government runs are the post office and the railroads, and both of them are bankrupt.” – Lee Iaccoca.
I understand that is quite dated however...BOTL this might be the problem!

Tracking a timely delivery has been an issue for me. They say its been delivered, I panic and it comes two or three days after.

I've ran into issues with items saying that they have been delivered only to be actually delivered several days later. I want to know what the hell that is about. We're supposedly paying for 3 days delivery times and it does piss me off when these instead turn into 5-6 day delivery times. However, for the price and ease of getting packages out, its hard to beat for $5 and change.
