I am bummed! I was not a fan, especially for $10/stick. It sucks because I am a huge Oliva fan. Maybe it was too wet but this was not a pleasant smoke. Got a lot of spice, which I inticipated from the ligero, but just wasn't feeling this one. Thankfully I have a couple others to try and I will let them dry out just a bit.

What did you guys pick up when you tried this one?

Got some dark, almost bitter chocolate. Maybe burnt caramel? I'll admit I wasn't too impressed with the first couple I had. I've put the rest down to age a bit. It's probably been almost a year now, so maybe I'll revisit these again. I agree about the price point.

My favorite Oliva right now is probably the Connecticut Reservas. a great mild morning smoke.

Damn. Guess I need to try another one. They've been in my humi for about 2 months or so in the cellophane. Wonder if I should take them out of their wrapper.

I was never a fan of oliva so I always passed on them. Saw a box of the double robusto in the humidor at my work marked down to $150 and they've been tucked away in the bottom shelf so no one ever bought em

I had the exact same experience with the MB3. Fairly dull flavours, and an AWFUL burn. Halfway through I had to give it up. And it was in the same 65% humidor I have all my other smokes in.

I would take a serie G over the MB3.

And I'd take a V over them both :skew:

Wow, glad to know it wasn't just me. LOL. I could only smoke about half as well.

Yeah, flavours that aren't to my liking are one thing, but when I can't even keep the dang thing lit, and it's hot and mushy 3/4 of the way down the cigar, it's just not worth the time or effort to burn the whole thing.

I'd rather put it out and sweeten the experience with an old fave.

I've had one of these, rested 9 months, and loved it. I was able to manage the burn with frequent light touch-ups. Here's an excerpt from my smoking log:

Ambient conditions: 55F, 45%RH. Start is peppery on the palate - careful with retrohaling the first half inch. Very chocolaty, very rich, meaty, like drinking very rich, dark, hot chocolate. Good smoke production. Fairly ragged burn needed on-going touch-ups. When the wrapper isn't burning well, the smoke becomes thin and hollow, losing its richness. After the first third, switched to 55-sec intervals, which helped a little. Past the halfway point, it gets smoother, but remains rich and chocolaty.
