Hey all....

Been wanting to do a PC box split for a bit and was trying to decide on a second box. I'm a an of the Upmann No. 2. I've had a few of them, but they were all spot on. How much variation is there from the No.2 to the PC and 4? I've heard the No.4 is a little stronger, but not sure how reliable that info was.

So gents.... if I like the Upmann 2, which will I like better? The PC or the No.4?

Thanks

EDIT: I am retarded. The No.4 was discontinued in 2002. FAIL. So are these at all similar in profile? The 2 and PC?

The No. 2 is a piramide. Just to be sure we are on the same track? I only ask because that's a pretty big difference, PC versus Piramide.

Taste varies based on size and shape of cigar as well. If you like the H. Upmann profile overall, you will most likely enjoy either, but beyond that I have had neither, so I can't help. I'm sure we'll get some H. Upmann connoisseurs to chime in soon enough.

Grouchy today, Steve?

Basically I just want to know if the PCs are anything similar in profile... maybe someone who's tasted the PC can chime in?
Again, I can't speak to the PC, and I do hope someone who has experience with all of the cigars can chime in for you, but with Cuban Brands the profile had BETTER be similar within the brand. It's kind of how things work in that world. Tastes will vary for sure, but the overall flavor profile will most definitely be similar, it's why the cigars are encompassed within the same brand. Maybe we are not on the same page here...

A perfect example. Partagas. The Short, the PSD4 and the PSP2 are all very different cigars, but I could tell you that each of them was a Partagas blind folded. Love the Short, love the PSP2, the PSD4 has never done much for me. But they are all very much "Partagas" in flavor profile.

I agree to some extent, but while I love the No. 2, I really dislike all of the Magnums I've had. I enjoyed a Regalias about 2 years ago, but I have no recollection of the profile.

Well I've really enjoyed my H Upmann PCs and they are easily in my top five since I tend to go for the smaller vitolas. Haven't had any #2 in a while so hopefully someone who's had recent experience with both can comment.

upmann pc's from '03...strong(i would say 3 1/2 out of 5)and tasty...flavour i would also rate 3 1/3 out of 5...i can taste black olive which i find unique to upmann(and only a few of them(upmann belvederes are strong black olive tasting cigars)).

tried only one no2(about 15 years ago) and didnt really like it so i cant offer a comparison...sorry.

How would you describe them?
Boy I'm really bad at this. I don't know why but when i read a review about a cigar I've already smoked sometimes it's like oh yeah that's dead on, but I have a hard time putting words to the flavors. The 08s that I have are definitely in the medium range with good flavor and just enough complexity. They aren't one dimensional but they aren't as complex as other CC's. I doubt that helps but that's all I've got. :scratchhe

I think Stever Jason said it best. If you enjoy the H. Upmann profile, then you should like the PC. Personally, I only like the Sir WInston, Mag 46, 48, 50 and #2. But that is just me.

Hopefully you'll get some more feedback here, but here's something that might help:

Cigars-review.org, H. Upmann page
There was some decent info on there that I checked before posting this, but I couldn't ask those people questions, that why I posted in here.

I have a contact that is going to let me try some in a trade so I should be ok.

Thanks for all the input, everyone.
