Quick question for all you opus fans... Never had an opus finally found these going for 17 a stick, so my question is, are they worth the price point? Looking for a Bday cigar for June and figure why not try to put some age on one thanks for the help !

Which ones are going for 17 (lancero or super belicoso)? that sounds like a great price.

Ecks had one earlier in the week and liked it; said it was a tamer opus X flavor, which too me rings true because the regular belicoso is MSRP about 3$ less but smokes real sharp fresh and takes a few years to calm down. Too me 3$ more for a smoother smoke immediately is a great thing. I was going to light one up last night with the crew but I had too much liquor to make a good assessment of the stick and went for a regular XxX instead. I would grab as many as you feel comfortable grabbing and light them up and enjoy the ride.

To me they taste like aged Opus only rott
I would say it smooth like an aged opus but the flavors aren't there(yet). With that said my box of lanceros should be here tomorrow.

The love affair siglo I smoked at the tat event after being underwhelmed by the black label was magical

My B&M only got one box of each (super belly and lancero), and the super bellies were $18.50, regular super belly is $17, The lanceros were $25.50. GA must have too high a tobacco tax, or my local is a little higher. I smoked one of the destino super bellies this weekend, and I thought that it was absolutely wonderful. An aged opus seems right on the mark, super smoothe. Really similar to the BBMF IMHO. (it's been a while since I had one of those, but thinking of it, they seem similar) I would buy as many as you can afford, or you can find. I've been hunting them, and have gotten several so far...totally awesome sticks.

I have smoking cigars for 41 years and while I agree...they are a good smoke there's alot more sticks that are just as good but definitely not priced that high. Now this is just a personal opinion and as it has been said opinions are like AHoles everyone has a different one! have you ever tried a Estaban Carreras? Nice smoke almost half the price!!!

Why does that make this person an asshole? Do you realize they had to buy 25 boxes of Fuente for the privilege to buy one box of 10 lanceros? The fact that these shops are selling them at all is surprising IMO. Most shops are going to hoard them for their personal stash. They could charge $60/stick and sell them eventually.

I understand that marking up HTF cigars is a sore spot on this board but Fuente is also to blame for limiting them in such a way that encourages ridiculous pricing.

Agreed, it takes buying a lot of inventory just to be able to buy them, just like the 8-5-8 Sungrowns
