Me first public review!!!
Dimensions: 4 5/8" x 49
Wrapper: Opus X Rosado - Dominican
Binder: Opus X Rosado - Dominican
Filler: Opus Blend - Dominican
Pre-light:
Gorgeous little thing with minimal veins. Beautiful cinamon colored wrapper with no soft spots upon inspection. Wrapper smells of cedar and the foot reveals notes of spices, both peppery and sweet.
After cutting with me Palio, I find a perfect draw and the sweet spices and cedar reigned the pre-light draw notes. Time to light this wee one up.
The Power Ranger is giving an exceptional good, thick, rich smoke since it's first draws. With a smooth flavour; not at all what I was hoping from it (me first xXx...I thought it'd be stronger.).
After a few more puffs, the cigar is starting to build up some body itself, though the smoke is thinning out. Peppery flavour with just a hint of sweetness to it.
In the middle of the 1st third I already am getting a bold cigar which makes a statement. Strongest I've had...not close (and I doubt it'll develop to); but certainly a strong cigar. Peppery spices dominating it's flavourprofile, with cedar and leather within. Have had minor burn issues but that is mostly out of me smoking outside.
Now the flavours are starting to get evasive amidst the strenght of the cigar (ever tried to review a Cheroot? Complicated isn't the word, but it's the first to come to mind), but there's a nuttiness there, added to the earlier flavours. The tobacco smell lingers on thepallate for a fantastic feeling. The white ash is a tad flaky and I'm not sure how much it'll last (a small corner just fell, even when it's only and inch long).
By the 2nd third, the cigar starts to mellow out, with more balance in it's notes, leading to a neat tasting smoke, where the dominant flavours are both peppery and sweet spices with some sweet raisin-like notes that do not leave behind the cedar ones. The ash still holds on and nothing has fallen yet.
1 3/4 inches of ash. The cigar has gotten quite mellow to the point I'd move it from full to medium, almost mild-medium. Pepper still lingers and I expect it to remain until the end. Sweetness took a place in the 2nd row now to let cedar and leather take it's place. As I wrote this, the ash fell.
De-banding time!!! Under it I found a small crack in the wrapper (probably me clumsy hands) and got burnt in the finger trying to fix with a tad of spit.
Enter 3rd third. The xXx took meout for a spin when it, after luring me to thinking this would finish as a mellow, smooth cigar to soothe me, decided to come back with it's signature strenght. Pepper galore on a filling smoke (I feel like I had a small snack already) with a gorgeous after-taste. Mostly pepper, though; for the other flavours are only second characters as of now. 'Though now, a tad after entering the 3rd third; some newfound sweetness arrived. Cannot quite put me finger on it, but it tastes like coffee with 2 teaspoons sugar (weird description, I know).
Moro is liking this cigar. Certainly a must-try for the lot of ye. Just required a new minor touch up now after some drafts of wind, but it burns perfectly asides from that.
So, nubbing time has arrived. Time to take out: The Sweetness Clip:
Smoke inserted there:
And off to nubbing.
This cigar will be on for around 20 more minutes, so I'll wrap it up already.
Excelent construction, with a more than good burn. The ash was good. The taste: well, I left it quite clear: gorgeous. Would I suggest it? Get one and in the end ye'll get many more. Overall an excelent cigar.
Why no numbers were awarded? I am terrible at assigning numbers.
