This company gave its employees five-figure bonuses:

In my 25+ year working life, I've never received so much as a thank you card. My current employer has $4 billion annual revenue and has seen record profits for a dozen consecutive quarters. The CEO made $20 million last year. Layoffs were announced a couple of weeks ago. They like to do that just before Christmas.

Companies like AIG, Ford, and GM make a relative handful of people obscenely rich yet the government is supposed to bail them out (with our taxes) when times get tough.

What an honor it must be to work for company like Peer Bearing that treats its employees like something other than liabilities.

A company like that inspires people to want to work there and not leave unlike most other companies who are indeed greedy and take rather than give. Will it spread to other companies? Don't hold your breath!

I used to work for a company where they awarded a bonus that was 25 percent of your annual salary. The bonus was nice, but the stars had to be in alignment with the moon just right to meet all the crazy goals set to get the bonus. I only seen one full bonus in the six years I was there. It was nice, but it hurt when I did not ever get it again.
