OK so I am looking at mounting a pair out outdoor speakers above the back door. Any sugestions; I don't want to break the bank, and I get snow and ice in the winter so would I need to take them down.

Thanks,

J

outdoor speakers are mostly for ambient noise...so you just need something decent...most are water resistant...and if done correctly, should mount and dismount fairly quickly.

Good timing on the thread. I've been looking, too. However, I've focused on wireless. Seems to be good quality/value in the Acoustic Research models that replace light fixtures. Anyone have any experience with these?

I bought a pair of rock speakers last year, they worked well. Too bad I've lost both the charger and the transmitter!!

Just mounted a set of these:

Insignia™ - 120W 2-Way Indoor/Outdoor Speakers (Pair)
Model: NS-E2111 | SKU: 7682769

2-way speaker system; can be used outdoors; mounting brackets and screws included

Bought them at Best Buy, for under a hundred bucks. This line was bought by Best Buy as an in house brand, but still manufactured by the folks who made JBL speakers years ago. At this price point, they are amazing!!! Never thought I'd say that about a lower priced speaker since the system in my house puts me in a snob category.

Working out very well for me and they are getting a good workout on our deck at least 3-4 nights a week.

Good Luck!
