I was a little annoyed Saturday night. This bar owner in town built a patio area and added a bar that so you don't have to go inside to get your drinks. Myself and a friend were enjoying a cigar (Tat Anarchy) and this lady came and sat by me for a cigarette and then started complaining about the cigar smoke.

I couldn't help but think that she could just move or go back inside when she was done with her cigarette. I can just imagine that I will soon start to hear non-smokers that are congregating out to the patio complain about the smoke.

Just venting.

I tell you what... it's just like bars that allow cigarettes, and have signs up that say "No Pipes or Cigars". I'm like WTF??!! Ask anyone, they'd prefer those aromas over the stench of a f*cking cigarette anyday!! That kinda sh*t floors me!

No joke... this has been my experience... I think the odds are that people are more likely to like, or at least be less bothered by, cigar smoke versus cigarette smoke.

Very annoying.

She's probably upset because she can't savor the flavor from her "finely crafted" Marlboro super ultra light 3 x 25 stick over the aroma of a real tobacco product :dunno:.

Miles to go before I sleep ...
People, on the whole, are rediculous ... but cigarette smokers really can't surprise me any more.
Last friday we got a building-wide email because for the second time this month the mulch out back was billowing smoke because cigarette smokers couldn't be troubled to throw their butts into one of the 4 ashtrays provided.
If cigarette butts were shell casings you'd swear the patio out back of our building was the site of the biggest fire fight the world had ever seen. It's shocking!
And that's not even going into their proximity to the doorways from which they're supposed to be back a minimum of 50ft.

I don't care if someone wants to smoke ... but just be reasonable and courteous!!! I consistently find cigar and pipe smokers to be courteous but cigarette smokers are another story. (no offense intended to those on here who are courteous cigarette smokers)

Had the same thing happen to me in a bar before, and she was a real b*tch about it. Well I had already had a few drinks in me so I just started blowing the smoke her way instead of up like I had been doing. I keep wanting her date/man to come say something to me but I guess the hard look I was giving him made him stay away LOL. Normally I would of acted like that but she just really got to me.

There is a great Mexican food restaurant in town that has an old door bar. And yes they have signs "No Cigars"! It blows my mind as well! The problem isn't the smell of the smoke but the volume of smoke a cigar produces. I don't agree with it but that is just fact.

There is another restaurant/bar close to me that has a very large bar area with tables. Have been told many times its ok to smoke cigars and have smoked in there. One night me and 6 other cigar smokers went in and light up. About half way into the cigars the manger came over and asked up to not light any more cigars after we finished with what we where smoking, the restaurant system just couldn't handle all the smoke. We had no problem with this because one he was nice about it, plus he didn't ask us to put them out. And there was another bar next door we could smoke in.

Both of the places I still go to, the Mexican food place has awesome food and it's the owners right to say smoking or not. Just eat there and leave instead of spending my money on hanging out and drinking. The other place I can still smoke at, just no large herfs LOL

I am amazed every time I go a local beer bar and smoke Cigars outside, we get no dirty looks, no fake coughing, and people typically ask to borrow our lighters, or for a cigar...I guess we are lucky like that...sorry to hear of the idiocy of this particular lady.

It's not like it happens to me all the time, in fact has never happened to me when smoking in a outdoor smoking area.

The owner of the bar is a nice guy and he asked me to bring him down a cigar the next time I stop down. I will continue to go down there and smoke my cigars, I just wondering how many times this is going to happen as the weather has just become nice for sitting outside and smoking a cigar here in Central WI.
