So I picked up a Padilla Miami at a local b&m tonight just for fun--haven't smoked one of these in a long while, pretty much since he started making them himself.

WTF was wrong with me?

This is a damn good cigar! No, it's not some giant fireball of flavor, and no it's not stupendously complex or anything, but it's a VERY enjoyable stick. Retails for under $10 bucks at per-stick b&m prices, so it's pretty affordable in the grand scheme of things.

Have I been so jaded by my current level of disgust in the NC marketplace that I've been passing these up for no good damn reason? Perhaps. Stupid mistake on my part, for sure.

I'll be correcting that mistake in the future--there will definitely be more Padilla Miamis in my humidor from now on.

:peace:

hehe, glad you enjoyed it, bro! Yea, these are good for sure. I like the 1932 better, but the Miami is great! But I'm kindof a Padilla ho these days :)

Ernesto did it right. I thought he was screwed when he and Pepin split. I was wrong. Currently I smoke the s**t out of Padilla cigars. The Habano is a great $2 cigar, the 32's are great and under $100, the Miami is solid, and the new Cazadores is a solid pepper bomb.

I agree! The Pepin-rolled '32s are awesome for sure, but I'm personally not convinced that it's not simply the extra age that they (by default) have over the current Padilla-factory '32s.

I think that Padilla is one of the most under-rated cigar makers today.
