A 'serious' online vendor that I use has raised prices on Padron 1926 cigars (for the boxes of ten anyway.) I had been buying boxes of ten 1926 #1s for $186. They are now $210. On the #9s, the price has risen from $168/box of ten to $190.00. Singles appear to have increased by between .30 and .50 per stick when purchased individually.

Not certain if the price increases are limited to this vendor only since that was my 'go to' guy for the boxes of ten.

Most likely is Padron stepped in there and slapped them on the wrist. They don't allow discounting their product. Their prices are now MSRP. Padron didn't raise any prices.
This is true. But padron did add in the 2nd half of the schip taxes in the last year or so though. When schip hit, they decided to break it down into 2 increases over time.

Yup, the prices the OP listed are current MSRP. There was a price increase in March that raised the price at the retail level $.20 on some cigars and $.30 on others. The shop in the OP may have held pricing then recently raised them to MSRP for whatever reason.

Not disagreeing with your perspective as you would know better than I....and the net effect is the same, IMO. If Padron told them to raise the price, then Padron increased the prices, no? (And yes, I understand that your point is that Padron didn't raise prices across the board and that it may be limited to this particular vendor.)

What Tim is saying is that the vendor was below what they are supposed to be selling at and they raised their prices to be were they are supposed to be in accordance with the agreement retailers have with Padron. It could be Padron telling them they need to get their prices where they need to be or the retailer finally getting around to raises their own prices.

I understand - I didn't really think that Padron monitored things that closely. I can think of at least one other vendor that I use that regularly discounts the premium Padron sticks, to include the Family Reserves.

You'd be surprised, but more so I would imagine that companies find out about retailers "low-balling" pretty easily if you know what I mean....
