I have been looking at some Partagas cigars, My question is which partagas has a spicier taste after some aging? The Partagas Millie Fluers or the Partagas Petit Corona Especiales? I am going to get another box this week but which is the better smoke. I like the Especiales because they are a larger ring gauge. But I'd rather go for more taste than size. what are your guys thoughts. I need your opinions.

If you want a small Party vitola, you can't go wrong with the Shortys.

They're small in stature, but deliver massive flavor.

Hi Donk

my two cents... I havent had PC Especiales yet, but Mille Fleurs are great cigars, can even stand proud compared to standard Partagas PC I have smoked, considering a far lesser price.

I am aware that there is a slight difference in size in favor to the PC Especiales, but how much difference do you think will that extra millimeter of thickness have on taste? Negligable in my opinion. Remember, we are not comparing a panatela to a robusto here, where the actual filler quantity and composition can have its merit on taste. If these two cigars, more or less both petit corona sized, would considerably differ in the filler composition, then the Habanos S.A. would probably have a hard time achieving that "partagas" taste one would associate with the brand. Plus, they are usually on the same level in retail, pricewise, which leads me to believe they are similar cigars, both in size, tobacco treatment (age, fermentation, quality,...) and composition.

So, I am more than satisfied with Mille Fleurs and would only consider buying PC Especiales if the price was the same or lower compared to MF and/or I couldnt get MF.

Not to be overly analytical but you're asking 2 different questions here. Do you want the partagas spiciness or do you want more overall taste than size? Two completely differnet questions......

The Partagas brand is not a single blend or taste. In fact, the spectrum of tastes within the brand is quite amazing. To say that a brand tastes the same down the line is inaccurate.

That said, I'd go with the shorts as well.

The sorts are definitely the spiciest, pepper wise, IMO.

Now if you are looking for an "all spice" type flavor then the PSD4, IMO, is where it's at.

I haven't had either of those mentioned but the Charlotte is pretty good too.

Just to clarify things up some. I am looking for the Petit line, And also Price too. the Millie fluers are like 118 dollars and the PCE are like 120 dollars. I'm looking for the spicier of the two cigars, I can't really tell with the one I have they are still young. the Party shorts are Oh Damn only $126 a box, but damn they are shorter than a petit, huh well,

Ok let's go with either the Pary Shorts and the PCE Now that the Millie Fluers are out all together.

I completely agree with you. But many would agree there is a tipical Partagas taste. My opinion is that these two models of a same cigar brand are similarly sized, similarly priced, of similar quality. I would bet that the differences are minuscule, but as said, havent tried Especiales.

I don't really agree with this. I think Partagas has some of the most varrying (sp?) flavor profiles thoughout their line than any other I can think of coming from "the island". This is why it is my favorite! :agreeclen
